i sing and play guitar in The Swellers. I tour all over the world. When I'm home, I like to record/produce bands in my studio. I enjoy spicy food, free thought, and other assorted punk things.

Check out Nick and Jono doing a rad interview on Joe Sib’s Complete Control along with Australian activist/musician Xavier Rudd and comedian Dustin Ybarra!

We’ve been a big fan of this show since its first episode and it was a pleasure finally being part of it! Thanks to SideOneDummy and everyone involved!

why do you decide to not drink or do drugs?

There wasn’t any big event that changed my mind or convinced me in any way.. I just think it’s how I am. Never had the need for anything “extra”. It’s simple.. smoking looks and smells gross.. drinking smells gross and makes people act kinda weird sometimes. I just prefer keeping a clear signal at all times. I think its my responsibility to use my brain to it’s fullest, real potential.

Amazing how “regular people” think it’s absolutely absurd that I don’t use any substances. It knocks people off of their feet sometimes to hear that a dude in a band stays sober. To me, I think it’s wild that it’s the norm to put something in your body to alter your perception and attitude. Sci-Fi, really. Do what you want, just think of your family and friends.

The Early November, The Wonder Years, The Swellers, Young Statues, and crew. One of the greatest tours I’ve been a part of. It’s rare that every band is on the same page and gets along so well. I became a big fan of every one of them as musicians and as people. This is CRAZY for me to say. I’m usually that guy who hates everyone and wants to just do my thing. This may have restored my faith (the good kind, based on evidence) in people in this business because they don’t seem to treat it as a business.
I even stayed out late at a BAR with all of these people. Normally standing around a wooden table for 4 hours at a time is not my idea of fun (it’s usually easier for someone growing increasingly intoxicated to find this monotony enjoyable). Thing is, when you put a lot of dudes who aren’t afraid to hug each other in a room with Pantera and The Misfits blasting.. I guess it ain’t so bad.
I’ll miss this tour, but I don’t think it’s the last time we’ll play with these guys. The rock and roll jam session was awesome. It really whupped a mule’s behind wif a belt.
P.S. this is only the beginning of me using Tumblr again. More anger and excitement to come!

I think there’s a lot to say and it’s important for me to open my big mouth a little more often. I guess stay tuned!

Friends..

I kinda forgot I had one of these. Don’t really have the time or patience to get on here. Find me on twitter or facebook and that might be a better option to find out what I’ve been up to. Or follow Jonathan’s blog closely, and chances are, we’re doing the same stuff!

<3 ya. No, fuck that, I don’t say that.

Hey nick. I know you won't reply to this however. It's worth a shot. Firstly. You guys were awesome in Edinburgh even with the tech problems. Also are you inspired slightly or is anyone in the band inspired by Foo Fighters and/or Nirvana?

Thanks,xx

heavily, heavily, heavily by both. nirvana is the reason a lot of us started to play music. foo fighters are the reason we probably STILL have faith in music. we’ll see you in ireland soon, hopefully!
